Swimming with a tampon in?

i'm new at wearing tampons so i'm not exactly sure of how often I have to change them yet, but i'm getting there. so anyway, my pool is opened and I'm due to get my period any day now but I want to swim so badly! if i wore a tampon swimming would i be absolutely sure there wouldn't be a leak (as long as i'm not in there for a really long time. ) is two hours too long?

Also, I put a tampon in after the shower and i thought i had it in right cuz I couldnt feel it or anything but there was blood on myunderwear, so obviously it leaked or something. and it was only one hour or two, so did i do something wrong?

oh, and also how do you know if you have a heavy or light flow? because the tampons go by grams and i dont know how to tell if i have a heavy period or a light period. any tips? thanks!Swimming with a tampon in?you can wear your tampon while swimming - but if you have a heavy flow, you need to change it a lot.

You can tell you have a heavy flow if you soak through a tampon within two hours. some women are really heavy at certain times during their period (so you prob didnt do anything wrong when inserting the tampon)

if you do go swimming, which you can - make sure that you regurally check to make sure your tampon isnt leaking, and change it often

hope this info helps!

ps. i found that it really helps when you use super absorbency tampons - they last longer!Swimming with a tampon in?when you go swimming you dont bleed actually when you are in water like the bath, pool, or shower you dont bleed.... you dont need to wear oneSwimming with a tampon in?u should be fine if it is in all the way

some occasional leaks are normal

try using a tampon with more absorbancy b/c it sounds like u have a heavy flow

being in the pool that long should be fine....they are good for up to 8 hrs....but do no longer than 6Swimming with a tampon in?You should change them every 6 to 7 hours at the most. Swimming with one should be fine. You're probably not using the right kind. Try using one more absorbent.Swimming with a tampon in?nope you would be fine... and what kind did you use... use the heavy flow at the begining and light towards the end... insert it all the way in, it shouldnt feel painfulSwimming with a tampon in?Ok, first off, you want to change your tampont at the maximum every four hours! No longer then that.

Second, swimming with them is perfectly fine. If you have a heavier flow you may want to check it and replace it after an hour or so, but it doesn't matter how long you swim. An hour or two should be no problem at all

As to your flow, if you only had it in for an hour or so and it leaked, you probably had a heavier flow and that was why. That just means you will have to change your tampons more often.Swimming with a tampon in?it just really depends on what kind u us i us pearl and it works but u have to make sure the string at the bottom dont end up sticking out of ur bathing suit and u should be fine for 2 hours b/c iv stayed in 3 with a tampon in and it worked...Swimming with a tampon in?THE FIRST ANSWERER IS WRONG YOU DO BLEED IN THE WATER. First of all tampax sport is the best...jsut get the regular because you sound new to this so your flow porbably isnt that heavy. And feel free to swim with a tampon in (six hours at max) and you probably didnt get it in far enough. use the ones with applicators stick it in until the place where you hold it then push the little bar thing to make it go in. sorry if that is hard to understand. look at the instructions. you probably wont leak. no worriesSwimming with a tampon in?Use two, if necessary. Even when I had to use two, I checked it regularly and made sure there was no problem. However, I swam no matter what .. it's good for you during this time of the month, too.

Best wishes!Swimming with a tampon in?Tampons are fine for swimming, just be careful that the string isn't hanging out of your swim suit. You can't be 100% sure that it won't leak, but when I swim I use a heavier absorbency just to be a little more sure.

Also:

You need to change every 2-4 hours and NEVER wear one for over 8 hours (you can get seriously sick from it, Toxic Shock Syndrome)

Take the first one out after about 3 hours, and if it's really dirty, change more often, and barely dirty change less often

As for the leak, it happens, maybe you need a heavier abosrbency. I usually just wear a heavy absorbency to avoid them in general. Or better tampons might help you. I like playtex gentle glide, they're really good.Swimming with a tampon in?ok for the first paragraph two hours isnt usually too long most i keep it in is like 4 so ure good and on the box it says no longer then 8 so ure good on that

second paragraph u didnt do anything wrong some times they leak depending on how ure flow is

third if u r wearin a tampon and its in for 2 hours one day and its barely filled then the next day u wear for the same amount of time then it leaks then u kno u hav a heavier flow Just keep usin it then ull get used to it

**hope this helps pleaze pick for best answer**Swimming with a tampon in?i dont know what that first answerer is talking about

you bleed

alot

you just cant feel it

you'll be fine for 2 hours

tampons usually last like 4-8

if you leak, i guess you'll be alright because the blood will dispearse in the water and no one will be able to tell, including you

trying wearing tampons more when your on your period so you get experienced

the only way to tell how heavy your flow is to figure out how many tampons or pads you go through and how absorbant they are. try guessing or asking your mom.
